2016 best bits, what a year it has been! I’ve shot at some of Ireland’s most beautiful venues, as well as some pretty beautiful places for couple shoots. I’ve had the best brides, up for anything, from getting carried over mud, wearing runners to trek through a forest, to wearing slippers all to get the best possible shots for their wedding day! Not to mention witnessing the singing priest in action! This enthusiasm is contagious and makes any stress with regards wedding timelines just melt away! I’ve laughed at hilarious speeches and nearly cried at others and I am so grateful that I get to witness all of these emotions and most personal parts of people lives on their wedding day.
This year has also been a great year for making new connections, not just with couples but with other photographers in the industry. It can be a lonely existence doing this on your own, but knowing that you have friends going through the exact same thing can be the reassurance you need to know that you are on the right track. So to all my photographer friends thank you for being there!
This year has been a great learning curve, embracing the challenges, the stress and the tears and making it through the other end, feeling that bit more confident. As the late great legend that is Leonard Cohen quoted: “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”. So here’s to embracing the cracks, the flaws, the stuff that really matters!
To all my amazing couples from this year, thank you for letting me continue to do what I love the most and to my future couples exciting time ahead!
Here are a few of my favourite best bits of 2016!
Roll on 2017!
