This was one wedding I was really looking forward to this summer. I first Skyped Jill months before we got to meet in person. We got to finally meet about a month before the wedding and got on great over coffee, chatting about everything, including our shared love for Chupi so from the start I knew this one would be a special day.
I was really excited to shoot in Blairscove House as it was my first time there, I didn’t realise they only do a small amount of weddings a year, as they are mainly a restaurant and a very well known one at that!(spoiler alert the food was AMAZING!) Speaking of food though, as a GBBO fan I found out on the day that one of Jill’s bridal party was Tamal for season 6 and of course he made the beautiful cake too!
Jill’s style on the day was right up my street, her stunning Catherine Deane top and wide leg trousers were just the coolest wedding day outfit I’ve ever seen! Paired with pearls made for one chic bride!
There was such a warm atmosphere on the day with so much love for both Jill and Rafi which was shown throughout each of the 8 speeches, (yes 8!!!…. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work on the day but it did!) and I must say they were some of the best and most heartfelt speeches I’ve ever heard! Even when it started drizzling rain, it didn’t matter to them or any of the guests, they all just continued to laugh, cry, and cheer through the speeches! This energy continued when all the guests and Rafi surprised Jill during the meal with a full on sing song, which is definitely a wedding first for me and a pretty amazing one at that!
It was an absolute pleasure being a part of Jill and Rafi’s day and I wish them both all the happiness in the future!
