Intimate Winter Wedding Dingle

With 2020 being the surreal crazy year that it was I was lucky enough to shoot a small number of weddings and ended the year with this most beautiful and intimate winter wedding of Sandra and Mark in Dingle. Like so many couples they postponed a number of times, what was meant to be a summer wedding ended up being a winter one and what was meant to be 190 guests was 25!….. but Sandra and Mark took it in their stride and carried on and wow what a stunning day they got in December.

Dingle is probably my most favourite spot in Ireland, there is something so incredibly special about it as a place. Yet Dingle in winter can be a very different story but we got super lucky between showers and crazy gale winds with Sandra and Mark who braved it all for the photos! We nearly lost the veil on multiple occasions but it was all worth it!

The day was so relaxed and just flowed with the smaller numbers. Sandra and Mark were able to hang out with their guests and the Skellig Hotel created the most beautiful intimate dinner space for them, a long with Maura’s cottage flowers providing stunning centre pieces, the place felt so warm and welcoming.

Like so many couples it wasn’t the day Sandra and Mark initially had in mind, but it didn’t matter! Having a smaller wedding didn’t make the day any less magical for them and their families!

In Sandra’s own words: “Mark and I originally had planned our wedding for 190 guests. In the end due to covid restrictions we had 25 guests. Despite the reduced numbers we had such a fabulous day. While I would have loved to have had all our family and friends celebrate with us on the day there are some positives to a smaller wedding. You have so much more quality time with your guests. Due to covid restrictions we hadn’t seen some of our family and friends for months. This actually heightened the excitement and joy on the day. Having a smaller wedding also allows you to spend more on flowers, decor, food and drinks. We had an intimate, romantic, beautiful wedding day and we feel so lucky to have had our 25 nearest and dearest celebrate with us.”

So go grab a cuppa and have a look through this wonderful day!
