Stunning Smock Alley Wedding
smock alley wedding

The first wedding of 2016 and what a way to start… with the Stunning Smock Alley Wedding of Ranae and Audrey. It was the first same sex wedding for Smock Alley! Both Ranae and Audrey got ready in The Morrison Hotel, the morning was hectic and chilled out all the same time. The morning was made extra special with Ranae’s brother arriving from Australia to walk her down the aisle. The ceremony was a stunning and intimate event at Smock Alley which was very fitting since they both work in theatre. There was so much love in one room, surrounded by the people nearest to them. The day was made even extra special for them as their unborn daughter was able to join them in the form of a ‘bump’. Ranae and Audrey had planned on getting married last October/November but due to delays with the same sex marriage law coming in they had to postpone the wedding until March. Ranae and Audrey met while in drama college 8 years ago and both knew that they had found their ‘person’. The ceremony was filled with love and laughter, followed by the reception at The Meeting House in Temple Bar, with probably the best and funniest speeches I have ever heard at a wedding, especially the alternative take of the prayer ‘In the name of Aud’! I felt incredibly privileged to photograph this wedding and a part of me felt so proud about how far our little country has come in our definition of marriage and love. Such a great day for this truly beautiful couple!
