FEATURED VENUE

A TRULY UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL RUSTIC INDUSTRIAL STYLE VENUE WITH TOUCHES OF OLD COUNTRY HOUSE ELEGANCE.

Built in 1766, The Millhouse and The Old Mill Slane, the weir and the millrace were once considered the largest and finest complex of its kind in Ireland. Originally a corn mill and over time, the Old Mill became a manufacturer of textiles turning raw cotton into luxury bed linen. In 2006, The Millhouse was creatively rejuvenated, transformed into a wedding venue of unique character and charm.

I’ve shot at the Millhouse in Slane throughout the seasons from summer to winter and It is one of my favourite venues in Co. Meath to work at.  The venue itself sits right on the river Boyne and consists of unique industrial outbuildings as well as an original old Georgian Mill building, where you can have your ceremony.  The country house is also yours for the day and is a wonderful space for your guests during the drinks reception no matter what the weather.

Whether you are going for an intimate wedding or a giant party, The Millhouse is an exclusive wedding venue less than one hours drive from Dublin that can cater up to 200 guests.  It has the perfect mix of Industrial and greenery so if you are looking for a contemporary non-traditional feel to your wedding day this is the venue for you.

ACCOMMODATION AT THE MILLHOUSE

The Millhouse offers both rustic and beautifully renovated spaces around the estate.

There is a range of unique rooms for your guests inside the Manor House as well as the beautiful split level Coach House suite overlooking the River Boyne, in close proximity to the main Manor House, this reflective space is both a luxurious and relaxing retreat and can be used the morning of a wedding for morning preparations.

There is also glamping by the wonderful riverside area with hot showers in the treehouse catering for up to 100 guests and breakfast available in The Millhouse.

Even if you decide to go in another direction for your wedding day, the glamping area at The Millhouse is also perfect for your own private party.

Ideal for Hen parties, Stags or Birthdays.

#insider tip

Like a lot of venues The Millhouse has a late ceremony start of 3pm all year round so I would always advise having a first look before the ceremony, especially in the autumn/winter months so you get the most out of the available daylight and that you have more time to enjoy your reception.

There are a few perfect spots around the venue that are completely private including at the back of the house and around by the Couch House so there are no worries of your guests seeing you before the ceremony.

Louise is such a talented wedding photographer.

After seeing her portfolio we were desperate to have her capture our big day and she really did not disappoint. The photos are stunning and have captured some really special moments throughout our day. It was also such a pleasure having Louise there on the day, she was so professional and approachable. We couldn’t recommend Louise enough to other couples… our photos are truly breathtaking.
